CCLS Strengthens Industry-Academia Collaboration with Anhui Yingfa Investment Group
The Centre for Chinese Legal Studies (CCLS), Shaikh Ahmad Hassan School of Law (SAHSOL) at LUMS, hosted representatives from Anhui Yingfa Investment Group, a leading company in electric vehicles (EVs), renewable energy, and agricultural technology in China and Pakistan, to explore collaboration, capacity building, and knowledge exchange.
On March 7, 2025, the inital meeting focused on strengthening academia-industry linkages and identifying joint ventures, research collaborations, and knowledge-sharing initiatives. Discussions explored ways to drive innovation and capacity building in Pakistan, creating opportunities for skill development, sustainable growth, and industry-led academic initiatives.
CCLS also shared its commitment to supporting Chinese businesses operating in Pakistan through capacity-building programs and executive training. The upcoming Business Law Executive Training program was highlighted as a key initiative to facilitate long-term engagement between industry and academia.
A follow-up meeting was held on March 10, 2025, to further refine the scope of collaboration. The representatives from Anhui Yingfa Investment Group included Zhang Xin; Chairman, Liu Xu; Deputy Chairman, Song Yuxiao; General Manager, and Zhang Yichi; Deputy General Manager attended the meeting. Senior faculty members from LUMS Suleman Dawood School of Business and Syed Babar Ali School of Science and Engineering also participated, including Dr. Muhammad Shakeel Sadiq Jajja, Dr. Fazal Jawad Seyyed, Mr. Nauman Ahmad Zaffar, Dr. Syed Zahoor Hassan and Ms. Hui Qi.
The discussion reinforced key areas of collaboration, particularly in capacity building, investment-driven growth, and sustainable economic development. Both parties explored avenues for joint ventures, research partnerships, and innovation to enhance Pakistan-China academic and business engagement.
These continued engagements reflect CCLS’s dedication to fostering meaningful industry-academia partnerships, leveraging expertise in business, science, and engineering to support economic development and cross-border collaboration between Pakistan and China.
