CCLS Hosts One-Day Workshop on Chinese Calligraphy
On February 19th, 2025 the Centre for Chinese Legal Studies (CCLS), Shaikh Ahmad Hassan School of Law (SAHSOL) at LUMS organized a one-day workshop on Chinese Calligraphy, led by Mr. Yin Bingquan, Head of the Business Department at China Qinhuangdao Vocational and Technical College, Head of the China-Pakistan Exchange Center, and an experienced calligrapher.
The workshop brought together participants from various age groups and backgrounds, including students, professionals, and homemakers, all eager to explore the traditional art of Chinese calligraphy. Mr. Yin guided attendees through basic brush techniques, stroke patterns, and the cultural meanings behind different characters.
A standout moment was the "Name in Chinese" activity, where Mr. Yin wrote participants’ names in Chinese calligraphy, giving them a personalized keepsake. The session concluded with a display of participants’ work, allowing everyone to appreciate each other’s efforts.
CCLS continues to promote cultural exchange and learning through engaging workshops and events, fostering deeper connections between the people of Pakistan and China. The Centre remains committed to creating opportunities that celebrate cultural diversity and encourage mutual understanding between both nations.
