CCLS Fosters Judicial Collaboration with Justice Zaheer-ud-Din Kakar
On February 14th, 2025 the Centre for Chinese Legal Studies (CCLS), Shaikh Ahmad Hassan School of Law (SAHSOL) at LUMS hosted Justice Zaheer-ud-Din Kakar at CCLS, providing a valuable opportunity to explore potential collaborations and gain insights from his extensive experience in the judicial system. Given Balochistan's strategic importance in the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), Justice Kakar’s perspectives on the region’s legal landscape will contribute to our research on the intersection of law, economy, and society. His expertise will also deepen our understanding of the judicial dimensions of CPEC-related projects in Balochistan.

Justice Zaheer-ud-Din Kakar has had a distinguished career, serving in various capacities including Civil Judge, Senior Civil Judge, Additional District and Sessions Judge, and District and Sessions Judge. He has also held key positions such as Registrar, High Court of Balochistan, and Chairman, Balochistan Service Tribunal. His expertise and insights will undoubtedly contribute to our mission of promoting learning and growth.
We discussed potential collaboration opportunities with Justice Zaheer-ud-Din Kakar, leveraging his expertise in judicial administration and criminal law. We explored ways to work together, harnessing his insights to enhance our research and education initiatives.
