CCLS Explores Academic Collaboration with Cornell University

On February 11th, 2025 the Centre for Chinese Legal Studies (CCLS), Shaikh Ahmad Hassan School of Law (SAHSOL) at LUMS held a productive meeting with Professor Mohamed Arafa, Adjunct Professor of Law at Cornell University, to explore opportunities for academic collaboration between the two institutions. The discussion focused on fostering partnerships through faculty and student exchanges, research collaborations, and joint initiatives in legal studies.

Key areas of cooperation include interdisciplinary research projects on regional governance, constitutional law, and Islamic constitutional law. Both institutions are also committed to enhancing legal scholarship by facilitating the exchange of books, manuscripts, and research materials, as well as creating co-teaching opportunities for faculty members.

This meeting marks a significant step toward strengthening academic ties and expanding research opportunities in legal education. CCLS and Cornell University look forward to building a lasting partnership that fosters impactful scholarship and global collaboration.
