What Will This Course Offer:

Develop practical language skills in speaking, listening, reading, and writing in Mandarin at an elementary level.

To enable students to utilize a variety of high-frequency vocabulary and basic grammar structures for routine interactions through interactive class activities like conversations and role-plays

Throughout the course, students will engage with Chinese tradition and culture through immersive experiences, including watching clips from Chinese movies.

Experience an engaging guest lecture with the Chinese consulate, offering students a unique opportunity to interact directly with consulate members and gain valuable insights into diplomatic relations and cultural exchange.

Receive personalized feedback and guidance from experienced instructors to support language development and progression.

Enhance career prospects and global opportunities through proficiency in elementary Mandarin Chinese.

Certification

Students who attend a minimum of 70% of classes will receive a certificate of completion.

Instructor

cclsHui Qi has an MPhil in Education Leadership and Management from LUMS, a postgraduate certificate in Hotel Management from Hotel Institute Montreux, Switzerland, and a Bachelor’s in Financial Management from Dong Hua University, China. She is now a PhD student in the Management Program at Suleman Dawood School of Business from LUMS. Her research revolves around the Chinese language, ancient Chinese philosophy, education and CPEC. She brings real-world experience from the commercial and banking sectors. She has taught Chinese language in Pakistani universities for ten years. She has been the Vice President of the Chinese Business Council in Pakistan since 2021.

Acquaint essential elementary vocabulary, correct pronunciation skills and grammatical structures

Communicate and write in Mandarin, using a very basic range of language in routine everyday contexts

Understand information conveyed in sentence-length speech on familiar topics

Refunds will only be issued if the Centre for Chinese Legal Studies (CCLS) cancels a course. Under no other circumstances will refunds be provided.
