Strengthening Academic Collaboration with Peking University

CCLS

The Director of the Centre for Chinese Legal Studies recently engaged with Professor Zhang Qingmin, Boya Distinguished Professor and Chair of the Department of Diplomacy at the School of International Studies, Peking University, during a networking event that brought together scholars and institutional representatives from leading academic institutions.

This meeting offered an important opportunity to exchange ideas on future avenues of academic cooperation, particularly in the fields of diplomacy and international relations. The discussion also reflected a shared interest in deepening cross-institutional dialogue and broadening the scope of engagement between the two institutions.

The Centre for Chinese Legal Studies has already established a collaborative relationship with the Law Department at Peking University through joint academic activities and exchanges. Building on this foundation, the interaction with Professor Zhang represents a step forward in extending this cooperation to include the university’s International Relations Department.

This engagement reflects the Centre’s ongoing commitment to fostering meaningful academic partnerships with key Chinese institutions, aimed at supporting research exchange, institutional learning, and long-term collaboration in areas relevant to China-Pakistan relations and regional governance.
