CCLS Director Speaks at Pakistan Navy War College Roundtable on Ocean Governance
On July 2nd, 2025, Dr. Sikander Ahmad Shah, Director of the Centre for Chinese Legal Studies (CCLS), Shaikh Ahmad Hassan School of Law (SAHSOL) at LUMS, was invited to speak at a roundtable discussion on Ocean Governance organized by the Pakistan Navy War College. The session was held at the Maritime Centre of Excellence, Lahore.
Dr. Shah delivered a talk titled “Legal and Institutional Frameworks for Ocean Governance: Policy Options for Pakistan”, focusing on the evolving legal challenges in maritime regulation and the importance of integrated governance structures. His remarks highlighted key institutional reforms, regional cooperation models, and policy strategies for improving Pakistan’s ocean governance approach.
The roundtable brought together academics, legal experts, maritime practitioners, and policymakers to exchange views on pressing issues such as maritime security, sustainable ocean use, and international maritime law.
