On the 16th of November 2023, distinguished representatives from the Chinese Consulate engaged in a productive meeting with the Centre for Chinese Legal Studies team to explore potential collaborations and outline a strategic path forward. Among the notable attendees were Mr. Chen Bo, Secretary, Chinese Consulate, and Mr. Du Yue, Director Political Section at the Chinese Consulate.

Several key points were discussed during the meeting, encompassing a range of collaborative initiatives. These included inviting Chinese professors to share their expertise on Chinese pedagogy, offering courses related to Chinese language and legal studies, fostering Chinese cultural exchange through events, and collectively navigating the path ahead. The meeting set the stage for a series of engagements that are expected to continue in the future, emphasizing the importance of ongoing relationship-building between the two entities.

Furthermore, the discourse extended to the creation of a conducive environment for Chinese businesses and economic investments and the need for constructive narrative building within academia. As part of the visit, a comprehensive tour of the campus was also provided, offering a firsthand insight into the facilities at LUMS and initiatives of the Centre. The meeting served as a platform to lay the foundation for a dynamic and mutually beneficial collaboration between the Centre for Chinese Legal Studies and the Chinese Consulate.
