Centre for Chinese Legal Studies Celebrates the 10th Anniversary of CPEC with the China Business Council

The Centre for Chinese Legal Studies (CCLS) was represented by the director, Dr. Sikander Ahmad Shah, at the grand celebration of the 10th Anniversary of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), an event organized by the China Business Council.The event witnessed the presence of the Council General of China, along with other eminent members of the Chinese business community. This occasion served as a testament to the growing ties between Pakistan and China, both economically and culturally.

As the foremost institution in Pakistan that champions research, pedagogy, and policy discourse on China and its legal studies, CCLS's participation was crucial. The Centre's mission, rooted in fostering understanding and collaboration between Pakistan and China, resonated well with the theme of the evening. Reiterating its commitment, CCLS emphasized its unique position to facilitate Chinese businesses in understanding the complexities of Pakistani laws to facilitate  ease for Chinese investors and enterprises to work in the Pakistani business domain.

The director of the Centre, Dr. Sikander Ahmed Shah, further underscored this vision, "CCLS serves as a bridge between the Pakistani state, its civil society, and the business milieu. We aim not only to promote thorough learning in Chinese legal studies but also to pave the way for strengthened business ties. Our role is to facilitate ease for Chinese businesses, offering them insights, guidance, and a comprehensive understanding of how the Pakistani legal framework operates

The Centre's emphasis was laid on the importance of ongoing collaboration, knowledge exchange, and building a robust network with leading global institutions for the sharing of policies and expertise.. Reflecting on the future, the director added, "Our vision is a collaborative business landscape where legal barriers are minimized, and opportunities are maximized. Through such events and our ongoing efforts at CCLS, we aim to make this vision a reality.”
